How to Establish Healthy Communication Bonds Between Caregiver and Family?

The caregiver in your home is your family's biggest supporter. In a house where they are happy and peaceful, your child or elderly relative will also receive much higher quality care. The foundation of this peace lies in open, respectful, and honest communication.

How Should Feedback (Criticism) Be Given?

When you don't like something your caregiver does, express it immediately but politely, rather than letting it build up and exploding in anger. Instead of saying, "Why did you do it this way?", be solution-oriented by saying, "We prefer to handle this situation this way in our home, let's do it this way next time."

Don't Forget to Show Appreciation

Communication doesn't just mean correcting mistakes. Recognizing a job well done and saying thank you is the action that increases motivation the most. Expressing sincere appreciation for a new word they taught your child or a delicious meal they made strengthens loyalty and a sense of belonging. Empathizing that they are human and can have good and bad days is the key to a long-lasting working relationship.
